The NYOS Floating Fish Trap helps aquarists catch aquarium fish with less disturbance to the livestock and aquascape. Its clear, rounded body is intended to encourage fish to enter naturally and its release mechanism avoids the usual pull-cord method.

The trap attaches to the aquarium glass using a magnetic holder, so it can be positioned where fish are comfortable feeding. A supplied pipette can be used to introduce food. When the desired fish has entered, releasing the magnetic connection allows a buoyant section to turn the trap upwards, securing the fish for removal.

The transparent design is compact enough for use in many reef aquariums. For more cautious fish, gradual familiarisation and feeding through the trap can help improve results. Algae sheets can be used as an attractant for grazing species.

Specifications: approximately 150 mm overall trap diameter and 72 mm opening diameter. Suitable for aquarium glass approximately 8–15 mm thick.
